What i have also noticed that the regular CBM has only around 1000 games and so the most news games are delivered with the CBM Extra which costs additional 45 - 50 Euro / year. Yes, every new Megabase version usually contains everything from previous years.

But, no, not everything from CBM goes into Megabase. At least not from the opening surveys. I have repeatedly checked that games that were annotated exclusively for opening surveys didn't make it into Megabase. I don't know why.

For instance, Marin annotated a game Miles-Lane, 2001 in CBM 147 (King’s Indian Torre Attack A48 survey) that appeared in April 2012. But these annotations didn't make it into Mega 2013 in November 2012. And this is the rule.

(The game itself is in Megabase, of course, but without annotations.)

Yes 2014 version should contain everything from previous years. 

I think each annual Megabase update just adds all games from the CBM issues of the preceding year?! So maybe CBM subscription is good value if one plans to update Megabase every year.
