I already contacted them and they replied very quickly, apologised several times and explained that actually their T&C is outdated and I can cancel my monthly payment whenever I like (provided that it is 2 weeks before the end). I was not duped!

Aha, so they duped me. Classy move. Good that at least the others know.

If I were you, I'd contact them, tell them that you misunderstood what you were buying and ask either for a refund or to be able to convert to the 100-euros-for-a-year option instead. OK, maybe you should have read their T and C, but on the other hand it should've been made absolutely clear what the deal was without you needing to wade through all the small print. Whatever their legal obligation might be, it'd be a very bad public relations move if they refused.

And voila, they have a monthly option for 10 euros/month! I bought it immediately and the videos did not disappoint. Smiley

Yes - but you have to pay 12 months anyway, which makes it 120 euros then. Have a look at their "terms and condiitions"....

100 euros for 12 months is quite a commitment for membership in such a new site. I'd be OK with paying 10 for a month, or whatever. This is too much. It's almost double what Playchess and ICC are charging!

I posted that in the "Who will win ..." thread. So it's not just my teenager who doesn't listen to me.

Was it Chess 24 that had Trent and Gustaffson covering the recent candidates tournament? A friend of mine said he really enjoyed it.

I would have watched those two, if I had known about it.

One thing I noticed was that the Svidler series appeared as 29.99 when I was a guest, then increased to 39.99 after I completed the free registration.

Other things such as membership increased as well, seemed a bit sneaky...I'd have to log back out before buying anything to avoid paying higher rates.

EDIT just realised that the 39.99 was dollars, so less sneaky more confusing (especially as I'm used to neither currency!)

I experimented the site with some games against computer opponents and in the first days, everything was ok, but today when playing a computer called Claudia just for fun, in the middle of the game she do not move, and I win always on time!  Undecided
Bugs on tactics training are not fun if someone is premium and I hope they fix it. I too will wait for more players to come.

I bought the Svidler series and i can only watch it online. I am considering capturing it with a screen recorder for personal use, but doing so for 12hour of video is a real pain. Also i guess that at some point it can be provided offline as well.

Is really the Najdorf series good? I am thinking to buy it as well but i am not sure if i'll like the 6.Bg5 Nbd7 7.Bc4 recommendations. Does she goes for the main liens with 7...Qb6? I never really liked those (personal taste, nothing to do with objectivity).

I'm afraid, that 7.Bc4 will finally turn this 7.-Nbd7  line to white's advantage. Black is definitely playing with fire.

LostTactic, like you I usually play the Na6 KID but i'm thinking of adding the Grunfeld vs Nc3. Do you think the Svidler's videos are a good start?

In short, yes. It is the best and most up to date video resource on the Grünfeld as at the present time. Whether it's the best resource regardless of format will for me depend on the quality of the e-book (when it becomes available), I'm expecting it to be very good though as I think it's constructed from Svidler's own analysis files, at least that's the impression I got whilst watching the dvd, as he often says "refer to my analysis for further details".

I've bought Guramishvili's Najdorf and it's wonderfu. I'm thinking of buying a premium subscription but i'm no sure. Btw, the Svidler's lessons on the Grunfeld cost 29.99 Euros, so it's not a bargian.

Do you get the video for download or the access to watch it online (and if that - watch it as often as you like or once?)?
greetings, Matemax

You can't download the videos, just watch them online as many times as you want
