What ErictheRed said.  You'd somehow need Google Docs to accept a diagram-specific font to natively embed a diagram, and I don't think you can do that.

I know that if you use Chessbase to Insert Diagram into your annotations, then Copy->Paste the entire game to Microsoft Word, the diagrams appear in Word.  Something similar is probably true for Google Docs.

Any genious know of a way I can use fen notation to automatically create a chess diagram in a Google Doc?

Much like the fen tag on this forum, wondering if there is some clever way to do this.
