Maybe, I had a look on the Alexa site for ChessPub.com and it kept giving me stats for ChessPublishing.com, which is odd as they are two separate sites on separate servers on different continents! Huh


Strangely it seems to list both as subdomains too...

According to Alexa there are 192 sites linking to chesspublishing.com! There are lots of outgoing links too, at least here in the forum.

And the number of google bots on the forum seem quite high for a chess site. Usually there are about 10-20 each time one checks the list of visitors.

I wonder if the poor rating may be related to the yabb-script affecting the address and the stats somehow?

That would explain why the Forum isn't on the list as we have no links to other sites at all! I've just had a look at the log and the number of monthly visitors is in the 6 figures, so it's difficult to believe it isn't in the top 500 most visited sites! Shocked

Page rank a complicated algorithm. Originally I believe principally based on the amounts of external links into sites etc.

Nowadays loads of people set out to try and game it of course, so they tweak/keep it secret in self defense if nothing else. Its difficult because you'd like them to make it public etc to be sure they're not manipulating things but if they did the results would instantly become useless Sad

They do of course do those sponsored links that they put at the top/sides.

I have no idea, but might it be total internet traffic?  It strikes me that with monthly updates, chesspublishing.com might not get a ton of traffic on a daily basis, even if it's one of the top chess resources on the web.
