Uncheck the 'Opening Reference' option in the 'Analysis Options' screen.

Analysis > BlunderCheck > Advanced > AnalysisOptions > OpeningReference ...

A logical suggestion; but I already unchecked it without it fixing the problem.

I thought about somehow inserting the following two move-pairs at the start of the game, to throw off the opening book. But there is no such Insert function:

1. Nf3 Nc6
2. Ng1 Nb8

I tested this trick manually on a small scale, and it does work. But in practical terms it is no solution.

What OS are you using and where did you get Komodo from? I don't have a stand-alone UI and http://komodochess.com/installation.htm says "Komodo just calculates moves and relies on other programs to display the chessboard." Did you buy a product that has Komodo bundled inside a GUI?

I used ChessBase 9 to analyze games by turning on an engine as I worked through a game but I guess you want to just feed it a whole game and have it annotate the whole game automatically.

In what UI are you using Komodo? Is there a standalone program?

I use it inside ChessBase and it can analyze any position just like any other engine can.

I use just the stand-alone UI that displays when I click the Komodo 9 UI.
I use Compare Analysis, to a Fixed Depth.

I have ChessBase 9 (9 is old, from mid-2000's). ChessBase 9 has no ability to analyze a game - it can only view and organize games. Sad

Thanks.

How make Komodo 9 analyze back to move 1?

What? Komodo 9 refuses to analyze any move earlier than move-pair 15??

I paid good money for Komodo, and it cannot analyze any further once it hits moves that exist in its opening book? Ridiculous - 30 moves/turns unanalyzable.

Maybe I need to stick with Fritz 11, where Shift-Alt-C (Compare Analysis) does not have this limitation (only Blunder Check suffers the limitation).

I am trying to unload the Opening Book, but the menu offers no way to unload it.

How ironic, considering one major philosophy that drives L.Kaufman in programming Komodo is its positional sense that enhances its opening-phase play.

** Is there any way to force Komodo to include the first 30 moves in its auto analyses?
