What is the "6A" on the new Kotronias book? (Read 5506 times)

	Its a strange sort of logic, I am still mystified If they are giving up on numbers why not just throw them out altogether?

	The old volume 6 covered the najdorf and related anti sicilians. The publisher decided to split the new version of the book into 2 volumes. Volume 6b will be on the najdorf and has not been released yet. Vol 6a covers the anti sicilians, and is supposed to address the anti's after 1.e4 c5 2. Nf3 Nc6, 2... d6 and 2... e6. (ie no 3.d4). On their blog, they said they stopped numbering the books, as seemed odd to them to have a gm repertoire 67, etc. Plus, not all the books are released in numeric order.(example vol 19 has not been released yet). So they decided to stop with the numbering at vol 20.

	Well, when its a question that can be answered absolutely comprehensively by pointing to the website of the book then a very gentle amount of sarcasm seems reasonable. The original question seemed/seems quite reasonable to me - I mean there's GM 18 and Gawain Jones' dragon books which it could apply to as well. Also the 'anti 1 d4 sidelines' book got given a nice clean number 11. I could add questions about why say Gawain's (and some others) books in the series are numberless. The answer of course is that expecting anyone to have a remotely consistent naming convention in chess books is being optimistic

	I cannot feel sorry for my slightly arrogant post above, because sometimes I really wonder how these questions work. If I would like to find out something about a book I would like to purchase, I would google it and inform myself. Hagenwatch1 seems to let his work be done by others.

	hmm. that being the case the next question is would this book just be anti-Sicilian for Najdorf players?

	It is supposed to second the Ftacnik repertoire on the Najdorf, which was volume 6. I try not to be impolite, but sometimes there are questions asked here which can be answered not even by googling, but just by logic thinking.

	I'm curious to see 6A on the spine of the new Beating the Anti Sicilians book by Kotronias. Why 6A? This is just a one volume work right?
