Thanks for the replies. 1. d4 d6 2. Nf3 g6 is my usual. I've played the Stonewall before, when I did Universal 1. ...e6. Looking to add the Leningrad to a Universal d6 whilst avoiding some anti-Dutch lines.

The starting out book might be the thing. I like his KIA and Lopez books. What's the Dutch book like in comparison.?

Yes, I have Perfect Pirc, so Moskolenko might be a thing to go with later, but for now, I just need enough for a bit of road testing.

Within the Leningrad, 1...d6 does deprive Black of the Stonewall hybrid lines, unless he wants to look silly playing ...d5 in two moves. I never liked the Stolningrwald anyway, but some authors feel it's objectively the best answer to one or more of the early b4, b3 or c3 lines.

I open 1. d4 d6, aiming to play Pirc/KID/Old Indian

I am thinking of adding

1. d4 d6 2. Nf3 f5

and/or

1. d4 d6 2. c4 f5

for some variety. 

To dip my toe in the water and get a quick rep up and running for a 1900ish player, what book/DVD would you recommend?

Looking also more for idea based material than telephone directories of variations.
