For a long time I refused to take "off-beat" lines against the Najdorf seriously. The authors at ChessPublishing are more open minded and up to date, having analyzed 6Bd3 in 37 games.

Also, GM Ivan Cheparinov devotes 11 chapters to 6Bd3:
Top-Level Repertoire against the Sicilian - Part 1 June 6, 2023
https://www.modern-chess.com/course/top-level-repertoire-against-the-sicilian-pa...

I have a new answer when someone asks why they should play the Classical Sicilian:  It prevents 6Bd3.

They played a couple of games in the FIDE World Cup blitz/rapid just now with 6.Bd3 Nbd7 7.0-0 g6. Seems like weird play by both sides, any thoughts? I thought 6...e6 was very comfortable for Black.
