Then is White playing 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 rather than 2.d4?

In this book, yes. But Andersson mostly plays 2.d4.

That's why I asked, so is White prepared to face 2...d4? I've rarely seen Andersson play this line as White.

KID Exchange, Pseudo-Grunfeld (as mentioned earlier) and all the major lines against the other Black defenses. Most via 1.Nf3 2.c4 (3.g3), except 1.Nf3 g6 2.e4.

Is it the Catalan vs the QGD?
The Exchange Variation vs the Slav?
What line vs the QGA?

Is it g3 vs the Queen's Indian with Qc2 or Bd2, or else?

Thanks

Yes, often with Bg5xf6.
Yes.
Anti-QGA via 1.Nf3 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Na3!?
7.Nc3 Ne4 8.Nxe4!? Bxe4 9.Ne1!?

There are 61 games (most, but not all, from Andersson) and 39 exercises.

I'll just mention this:  the treatment (in a sample I saw) of 1. Nf3 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. Nc3 d5 4. cd Nxd5 5. e4 Nxc3 6. dc took me back to Edmar Mednis's book From the Opening into the Endgame, which used some of the same games.  Lakdawala gives 6...Qxd1+ 7. Kxd1 f6 as best, just as Mednis did 35 years ago (and has it as leading to equality as in a game Andersson-Atakisi 2009).

The book from Mednis is mentioned in the Bibliography.

Giddins also mentions this, and other queenless middlegames, in How to Build Your Chess Opening Repertoire. He refers to Andersson's games against Kouatly, Franco and Tempone. Plus also his games against Byrne and Biyiasis in the KID Exchange.

Anyone can share his / her impressions about this new book, based on legendary Ulf Andersson's repertoire? From the excerpt it looks like a very interesting work. What lines are played vs the major Black defenses?
