Hi,
i am playing this kind of scan. since three years never lost a game. My rating is 1840 in the moment. You need patience to make  a win. The solid structure avoids any "taking by storm".
The resulting endgames could be learned very easily, so this is where I see the big advantage.
I recommend the scan book, in german by Mathias Wahls, the chessbase CD fromCurd Hansen and of the course the video from Andrew Martin. By the Mathias is going to publish a new book.

Hello All,

I thoroughly enjoyed A. Martin's Scandinavian video. Yet, I have reservations playing it myself. It seems to me that since black is falling behind in development, black must be very accurate in his moves. At the club level (my highest rating was 2030), a few small inaccuracies by black will give him a difficult game. I know that at IM levels, draws with black are perfectly adequate. Does not this mean black's winning chances are much lessened?

Thoughts on this please?

Thanks
