The Reason i found this to be daring is not on its overall theory but lack there of. Its character can go from passive or to a violent counter play type of game. Maybe its not a Budhapest but it has some flare depending on your temprament

There's also a small book by Wall, which must be long out of print by now.  I'm sure the King book is better, but I remember finding the Wall book for $2 and deciding to buy it...

There are some threads in the 1 e4 ... section. In my understanding Owen´s Defence is 1.e4 b6 while only white systems with early c4 should belong here to the Daring Defences !?

To summarize an answer to your question: the only book is Daniel King´s "English Defence" which do not cover systems without c4 but is good in the rest. There´s a german database by FM Herbrechtsmeier. There´s some (sufficient !?) coverage here in ChessPub. Maybe the best is to look out in your database for games of strong players.

Ive been looking for material on owens defence. Has anyone ever seen a book or website dedicated to this strange but solid opening for black?

Or does anyone here play it? And do they have games they could reference?
