I have heard that French GM Christian Bauer (2600+) is preparing a complete repertoire book with 1...b6, so obviously it will cover the Owen defense!

Some one needs to write a new Owens book

Why is the opening neglected!? it is sound and dynamic. I think the flexibility is comfroting like a lot of other hyper modern systems. I used to play the modern till the austrian appeard in front of me. Now the owens seems to be my cup of tea. It helps that i played a french for about 2 years and undermining whites center is not a big deal for me. To top it off a good light squared bishop!

So why the lack of new literature in the book stall. I think one of the guys at chess publishing should go for it or maybe some one like Blatny or even Suttercane. People who know this is not a bad defense. It could be even a starting out book to get the younger crowd into it and spread the Owens Joy.

Any comments on the lack of or older books on my favorite defense feel free to chime in.

Peace
