try 2...exf4 3 Nc3!? (Mason Gambit)

but check a bit of theory first Wink

if you want a book, I recommend...

I have been playing the King's Gambit for quite a long time and it seems that all of the lines require medium to a lot of theory, so I don't think that a King's Gambit is the way to go unless you want to memorize a lot of opening theory.

Does not exist. But you might try 1.f4 e5 2.fxe5 d6 3.Nf3 dxe5 4.Bc4, which is a sort of King's Gambit Declined.

I am mostly a Bird player as white, Was wondering if one could recommend a line of the King gambit that is good for OTB play for someone who doesn't want to learn tons of theory on the King Gambit.  (1. f4 e5 2. e4)   

when I play Coor. chess I don't mind picking technical lines, as I have the books to back me up.   Wink
