I thought there was a well known anitidote to the Larsen (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Nf6 5.Nxf6 gxf6 ) where white financhettles his KB and Black's counterplay on the knight file comes to naught.

Let's be honest and real,  the caro-kann is not agressive - period. Yes, Houska's book advocates more active lines, but still agressive is a bit of a stretch. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. Every opening involves a tradeoff.

'Aggressive'
1) Get Houska's book. Bf5 stuff pretty good. Other lines useful too. Good debut work.
2) read recent updates here by Watson
3) dont play houska anti-panov line
4) Supplement with e.g. Asrian, Dreev, McHedlishvili (drinks vodka, sports a sporran), Jobava, Karpov, Miles, Adianto, Dautov etc from a friendly dbase.
5) Buy karpov caro books.

You should find sufficient there to chew on.

Its not all sitting there and waiting for something nasty to happen.

No to Gurgenidze - been there, done that, lost those.

The Caro-Kann is well known for its rock solidity but i'd like whether there exist (or not) some more agressive variations for black, or some recommendations for "agressive" caro-kann players?
I have i.e. the Gurgenidze in mind but I am afraid this is not so sound a system.

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.
