Nc3, instead of the unwieldy Nxc6 and e5 ...and giving Black another chance to play Nxd4 and c5

The problem is 7...Bxe3 when White either has to recapture on e3 and suffer with pathetic isolated e-pawns, or play 8 Nxc7+ getting pawn (maybe two after a later ...b6, Nxb6) and rook for two pieces. Every time a strong player has had this position as Black they soon had the advantage.

	Some questions on the Scotch lines that follow: 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. d4 ed 4. Nxd Bc5 5. Be3 Qf6 6. c3 ...... If Black plays 6.....Nge7 then why is 7 g3 not considered as that good for White, as it seems to me like it is not bad at all. If Black plays 6 .......Qg6, then why is 7. Nb5 not the main move as it seems to score very well for White? Thanks to anyone who might help
