Yaacov Norowitz here is his site   http://www.yaacovn.com/

Yes he is a specialist of the Stonewall attack.

I have seen Yaacov playing around (like a toy) with GM Larry Chistiansen

on ICC winning game after game against him in blitz.

Larry had no answer to Yaacovs rock solid play.

his handle on ICC is '  YaacovN  '

I have a book about Stonewall attack written about GM Soltis.

Probably the only book existing on this opening. A good book.

There is a link on the web where you can find a lecture on the Stonewall attack by Yaacov

http://www.kenilworthchessclub.org/games/java/2006/yaacov-lecture.htm

"I Often see in chess forums people asking : " What is the current status of that line ?"&&&&Its a good reasonable question, but who can claim that he knows the answer ?!&&&&Semko Semkov Januari 2008

Something about him: http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessplayer?pid=85695, seems to be a good blitz player.

Yusupov once said that “The problem with the Dutch Defence is that later in many positions the best move would be ...f5-f7” but he is surely wrong.

Yes it is. Perfectly valid.

Always a good idea to see if something has been discussed before.

Who?
Some blitz player I guess. Dunno.

7s rugby. 5-a-side football. 20-20 cricket.
Reduced versions can be entertaining and fun but, and not to sound sniffy, should not be taken too seriously or confused with the real game.

This subject has already been treated. You can have a look at: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1195919731
And yes, the Stonewall attack can be very efficient OTB when black is not  (enough) prepared to meet it!

Stonewall Attack...is it playable?

I've noticed that the great blitz and bullet player Yaacov Norowitz has almost exclusively used the Stonewall Attack as a white weapon.  He has taken down a number of super GMs with it.  He plays 1 d4 d5 2 e3 and 1 d4 Nf6 2 e3.  This seems really committal and prevents all sorts of options for white (London, Torre, Barry, Spassky, etc).  But he does great with it and if black goes with g6, Bg7 then he converts to a Zukertort.  Will this work in slow time controls OTB if your name is not Yaacov?
