Well it is certainly playable for white, but then 9....Qxe4 can hardly be advised for black (either 9...d6 or 9....d5 are better moves)

9.....Qe4 10.Nb5! (iso 10.Nd2) and now two moves have been tried:


(a) 10......Bxe3 11.Nxc7,Kd8 12.Nxa8,b6
[ 12......Bh6 13.Re1 is good for white (Emms)]
13.fxe3,Bb7 14.Rf2!

and it is surprisingly hard for black to deal with the threat 15.Qd6
(b) 10.....Qc6 11.Bxc5,Qxc5 12.Qd4! and once again black will lose the exchange without enough compensation:
     12.... Qxd4 13.cxd4, N5c6 14.Nxc7,Kd8 15.Nxa8 +-
for example 15.....Nd5 16.Nc3!,Nb4 17.Rfd1,b6 18.Be4,Nbc6 19.Nb5 1-0
