ECO thinks White should get a clear advantage with 7. Ne5, as in Raicevic-Rukavina 1974.

Already played through Capablanca-Spielmann, Bad Kissingen 1928? My hero played 6...b4 7.Na2 e6 8.Bxc4 Be7 9.0-0 0-0 10.b3 c5 and kinda crushed the great Cuban. This might explain the popularity of 6...b4 opposed to 6...Nd5.

The book had the effect good books usually have: it made the stupids more stupid, the intelligent more intelligent and the other thousands of readers remained unchanged.

So, a number of opponents have been playing 5 e3 against me for some reason, and while browsing a database I noticed that the likes of Bogolyubov and Tartakower had played this interesting knight move (as opposed to b4).  However, I also saw that the line pretty much died out soon after, but I'm not sure I see why from the games.

Thoughts?
