online chess database access for mobile devices

Hi,

I'm considering getting a blackberry curve or iPhone, but my most important criteria is that I have access to some online chess database so I can look at games while on the train coming into work.

With this in mind I've noticed that the java support in the minibrowsers is probably not there, which hurts because chesslive.de and chessgames.com rely on the browser supporting java. I've also noticed that 'pocket fritz' has (or at one point *had*) support to connect to the chessbase online db and look for games matching a position. Does anyone know what the status is on this feature? does pocket fritz work on blackberry's curve (I always see it mentioned as an app for PDAs)?

Finally, I know that chesspublishing uses javascript for the games (I don't have my subscription anymore but I might consider renewing if other options don't work well), does anyone know how well this works with blackberry/iphone? The most important part I guess is that the whole board should be viewable in the browser without scrolling.

Thanks to anyone with experience with this!
