It's not a bad line, although the novelty value of this idea has long gone.

6..e5 7 nf3 nbd7 is meant to be a pretty solid equaliser - 8 bc4 isn't that great but 8 bd3 can be tricky although the ef bb4 bg4 seems to neutralise white's chances and if he knows his stuff the qb6 lines grabbing the pawn black may be ok. 8 g4 !? crazy move by Volotkin .

I'd suggest look at the Sharpest sicilian for the details.

Alternatively 6.. nbd7 /qc7 should be ok as well.

6..e6 is a pretty sound move but of course both sides need to know the intricacies of the Schevenginegn.

Hi all,
Thanks for reading.  I am wondering about 6.f4 vs the najdorf.
1. is it true to say it is sharper then 6.be2, not as sharp as Bc4 maybe as sharp as Be3 and not nearly as sharp as Bg5!?!?
2. Can white get even a small plus in most lines?  I have the beating the Siclian 3 book any new lines since then?
thanks,
Zatara
