I have to stay with David Rudel's assessment of the position in Zuke'em. After Bg4 the only way to get an advantage is going for the bishop pair. Qb3 is more than playable but i don't think is the strongest move on the board.

Yes, this line is quite a new one. And true, Avrukh is recommending it for the white player. But as this line is very topical, there are newer developments around. You can check the Wijk aan Zee (Corus Tournament in Jan-2009) games. There were two games with
1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. e3 Bg4 5. Qb3 Qb6 6. Nc3 e6 7. Nh4 (intending h3 and g4)

* Carlsen-Movsesian ˝:˝ and
* Morozevich-Smeets 1:0 (the result came from an endgame blunder)

I'd say, the opening was quite satisfactory for the second player in both games. - Regards!

I recently purchased this book . I was surprised there was no coverage of

[Event "8th European Team Championship - Semifi"]
[Site "ICCF"]
[Date "????.??.??"]
[Round "?"]
[White "Rogetzer, Klaus"]
[Black "Williamson, Harvey D."]
[Result "*"]
[ECO "A00"]
[WhiteElo "2451"]
[BlackElo "2360"]
[PlyCount "11"]
[EventDate "2009.02.21"]
[EventType "corr"]

1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. e3 Bg4 5. Qb3 Qb6 6. Nc3 *

a position I now face in a correspondence game and nothing in this latest book on what looks like the best move 6 - any suggestions? 6..e6 then?

Do I know you?  From a CC game?  From the USCF org boards about that Paul Truong nonsense?

Anyhow, I suggest you buy a copy of Avrukh's book, which your opponent appears to be playing from.

Thanks! I Never heard of Paul Truong.
