Maybe Bologan will propose 6...a6 since then 7.d4 Nc6 transposes to the Panno, while 7.d3 e5 is covered by Dembo in her book "Fighting the anti-King´s Indians". In her notes she refers to two games by Bologan himself.

Perhaps white can try something different on move 7?

I wouldn't worry too much about the endgames after ...c5 in the Samisch. They're still quite complicated and imbalanced. One or two dubious moves from White could mean curtains! I quite like the Panno vs. the Fianchetto, but one problem I've encountered is when they play a Flank Opening then suddenly push d4, then what? For instance: 

1. Nf3 Nf6 2. c4 g6 3. g3 Bg7 4. Bg2 0-0 5. 0-0 d6 6. Nc3 e5 7. d4, when you've played ....e5 instead of ...Nc6. That said, I suppose you could try 6...Nc6 there, but since c4 really isn't a huge target anymore, it might just invite Rb1, b4, b5, etc...I dunno. I'm interested to see if Bologan deals with this problem in his new book, since he's recommending the Panno.

Byrne? Is that a6, c6, b5? If so, the Greek fella Grievous did an article on that. In CBM magazine maybe? Someone here will know.

Ugh, ..b6 and ...c5. Looked at that years back, tried once. Bit grim.

Old-fashioned ...e5 lines should be fine. I have always played that.  Vigorito put together a good repertoire on that on chesslecture.com website.

thanks for reading.  I am wondering how the Panno, as black, does vs the Fianchetto and Samiesch? Or is it  better to play c5 vs Samisch and the "gallagher" vs the Fianchetto or even d5 alla the Grunfeld?!!!?? I am Particularly worried about the idea of playing c5 vs the samisch as it has a little taste of the endgame.  At my level I think the more pieces on the board the better winning chances as some one might make an error due to complications.
