Rossia thanks

If you want I can send you all 8034 KID games analyzed in Chess Informant's 1-103, ECO codes E60-99.

Just send me your e-mail via personal message.

PS Comppresed archive file (CBV extension, just open with Fritz or Chessbase) has 2,60 Mb  Cheesy

Maybe easier if you could just post the 8034 games here.

Against the Samisch KID, I would recommend the Panno against more positional players and the Samisch Benoni against more tactical players, or alternatively play the Panno against higher-rated players and the Benoni setups against lower-rated players.

In my experience, playing the Samisch Benoni against higher-rated players is usually not a wise idea because unless you can create a large amount of counterplay, it is fairly easy for the higher-rated player to positionally outplay you. As for the Panno, it usually leads to very sharp positions, which increases your winning chances against a lower-rated player but also provides them with much better chances of mating you or working their way through the complications better than you because the position is very unclear.

As for the Fianchetto variation, I would recommend stearing clear of the Gallagher Variation unless you think the opponent hasn't seen it before, and would suggest instead the Panno setups when you are playing for three results and the Grunfeld setups (with or without ...c6) when you are playing for two results.

I think the Byrne is also a good choice, but mainly as a surprise weapon.

CBM = Chessbase Magazine. It's a publication sold by Chessbase regularly, with opening surveys, videos, interesting games explained by the players themselves, etc...

Byrne? Is that a6, c6, b5? If so, the Greek fella Grievous did an article on that. In CBM magazine maybe? Someone here will know.

Yes it is. Is CBM some kind of Media?

This game is very instructive and played by leading theoretician:

For me this has nothing to do with repertoire books. 6...Nc6 just isn´t to my taste because I believe white has a head start with his play on the queenside. Meanwhile blacks play on the kingside takes a little longer due to the position of the knight on f6 blocking the f-pawn.

I have no doubt that 6...Nc6 is perfectly playable. But I subjectively prefer to leave that square for a pawn to be able to play in the center. This seems more flexible to me than just concentrating on an attack.

Well, 6...Nc6 can readily lead to a major line of the English (7. d3 e5) where some of Black's standard plans are based on play in the center (involving ...Re8 and ...e4 or ...Nd4).

I continue to be nonplussed by this apparently exclusive focus on repertoire books.  I mean, to say something like "maybe 6...Nc6 could be tried, but ...I dunno" when it has been played by many GMs, including a number of world champions (or future world champions -- if you studied "My 60 Memorable Games," you might recall Petrosian-Fischer), is given as a normal move in encyclopedias etc. ...curious.

Should I be familiar with every approach taken by any GM in one of the most theoretical and historically significant openings in all of chess? Of course 6...Nc6 is a move. Sorry I'm not an expert, and can't really cast any intelligent opinion on it. Cut me some slack!

I also prefer the h6-line ever since Kotronias wrote about it in "Beating the flank openings. No moveorder problems for me since I have the Gallagher vs. the Fianchetto in my repertoire.

Maybe Bologans book will change that.

I've always played 6...e5 on account of Dembo's book, since I liked 7. d3 h6!? very much for Black. However, I've never cared to look at the other lines in her book. 6...a6 is interesting, and it does make a lot of sense if you play the Panno vs. the Fianchetto, since 7. d4 Nc6 will transpose. If White plays something like 7. Rb1, then you can play something like 7...e5 8. d3 h6!? with very similar positions.
