A lot better.   Half the battle in playing the caro-kann in won by making 1. e4 players think it is dreary and boring. It is important to preserve that perception   Smiley

Well, kingside castling is the Hot New Thing, and moreover it's more dynamiic than the other.  So I would be surprised if he didn't include it.  It would surprising, from the point of view of marketing, to exclude it.

This is really terrific news!   
Quality is becoming my favorite publisher.

I've been working on the Caro-Kann a lot lately and I would LOVE more stuff on  3...Bf5! in the Advance and Capablanca's 4...Bf5 in the Nc3 mainline.  Its rather surprising how little has been published about these lines lately.   

Speaking of the Capablanca mainline...I wonder if he'll recommend castling long (like in the old days) or go in for kingside castling (like Houska, Marin, Schiller, etc.).  
I'm hoping he chooses ...O-O-O if only to redress the balance a bit.  

Although it seems currently fashionable,  the whole ...Qa5/...Bb4 and ...O-O thing seems a bit 'antithetical' for the Caro-Kann.  
But perhaps that's just me.  Roll Eyes

I also wonder what line he'll go for against the Panov.
I'd like to see 5...Nc6 (with good ol' 6...Be6! against Bg5).
But I'd be perfectly happy to see ...e6 and ...Bb4.   

Man, I just love it when there is a book to get excited about!

well it was a long time ago and his results weren't smashing but both moves seem to GM-worthy.

Well a quick check in chesslab learns that he has played the CK although not a lot and mostly at the beginning of the century. His first book got good reviews and Quality Chess seems to have knack for digging up good writers (Marin, Avrukh...). 

Bf5 or Nd7, that's the question  Smiley

Exiting news
According to the qualitychess catalog they are planning to publish a repertoire book based on the caro-kann for black by GM Schandorff !!
ALthough it won´t be published soon, I am still looking forward.
I hope he will advocate the Bf5 line, similiar to Houskas book, but against the closed variation with 3.e5 I hope he goes for Bf5.
