I'm a mainly 'Classical' music obsessive, with a full choral training (though I haven't actually sung outside the shower for 20+ years!) and a huge CD (and music books) collection. In general I love medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and C20/contemporary music and shy away from the later C19. Biggest favs = Purcell, Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Bruckner, Mahler, Wolf, Sibelius, Bartok, Ravel; big non-favs = Brahms, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, and sugar on my porridge. Performers? -- too many to mention, though I can't help mentioning the wondrous Jordi Savall and his sadly missed wife Monserrat Figueras. I also love lots of other music even though I don't buy the discs so much -- Bill Evans, Coltrane, John Surman ... Also I've been getting into Hindustani music quite a bit lately. Ravi Shankar and Amjad Ali Khan at last year's Edinburgh Festival were just head-rearranging!
