When a member clicks on another member's name you now get a list of 'user tools', like 'Send PM to ...', etc., but for GabrielGale these user tools were showing permanently.
Anyway, now it's gone that's one problem less to worry about!

Well what seems to have (somehow!) worked for me just now was going to my profile options, switching to old YABB2.1 style - when I lost the extra info - then switching back again to the new style. It hasn't come back (yet ).

Baffling really, but it may just help.

When you click quote to reply, the text is in a much bigger font than the original.

Actually for me on Firefox its showing up everywhere someones name is, their status info, option to view profile, send a PM to and add as a buddy,  are all added.

Even next to every post in fact so really quite annoying

There does seem to be a black X to click but that doesn't do anything.

Just checked and its much better behaved in Opera. (doesn't seem to show at all.).

After a couple of days I still thintk the quick post option is very annoying. 
You never get around it - when you want to go back to the "Board or to Home" you have to scroll past it. That I think is very illogical and disturbing.

A workable compromise could be to put "back to the Board or to Home" above the quick post option.

Any other changes seams quite nice to me. It's the best forum around!

Scroll up a bit in a thread and try reading a long post or one with a bit of analysis in it.  As GabrielGale notes, before you can finish what you are doing, you get dragged down to the bottom of the screen.

This is a list of peeves at the moment  which may pass once I get used to it (if I do as conditioning is a wonderful thing!)

1) I like clicking on the last post to read a thread and then work myself back up to see where I last read the thread. But with the default "quick new post", this is taking longer to load and the browser keeps dragging me back to the end of the thread and the "quick new post" ... very annoying.

2) Do we really need all thos info about the moderators, their online status, their PM, etc? It is making the page longer ...

3) Similarly do we need all thoise info for Forum members who is online at the bottom of the page?

4) what happened to the functionality at the bottom of a thread where you can click to go back to the Board or to Home?

On the positive side,

1) I like the new functionality which allows you to see the new recent posts with a max of 25 posts.


But keep up the good work and the willingness to experiment and change (for the better...)

When entering a thread I normally push the "end" key to read the last post. Now I have to scroll the window a bit. No big deal - but a bit irritating. 
Also; When posting, I normally quote someone anyway. Then it is not logical to use this quick post option...
