Well a bit (the very main line in that given in III isn't hugely healthy), but mostly think that there's finally been quite a bit of high level interest in the poisoned pawn and a while since he last wrote about it now.

Essentially he's reverting to the main choices from 2 (and 1?) so not at all a surprise.

I think 7...0-0 Winawer was covered in the last edition, has much changed since then?

I also wonder how many pages will be for 6...Qa5 7. Bd2 Qa4 8. Qb1.

No idea then Smiley Must be some chance as he really does love analysing/covering unclear deviations. Certainly it'd be a surprise if he gives just one main line anywhere significant.

Almost certainly and in some depth. Certainly 9 Nf4 because you can't avoid it.

I'm sure 9. Nf4, but all the DVD's and books recommend 15...Nxf3, whereas it looks like Bb4+ might be worth exploring...

I was told that it was to be in the printer this week, but I mean when would that indicate publication usually? I am not sure if each printer has their own timing.

You can't make an accurate guess about publication date from the date a book goes to the printer. As a general rule, the quicker you want work turned round, the more expensive it is; the longer you're willing to wait, the less you have to pay. So it all depends on the arrangement the publishers have with the printer.

cf not covering 3 .. c5 its worth noting that he gave precisely the same reasons for not covering 3 Nd2 Nf6 in PTF III. Repeating large chunks of previous books is a bit dull/pointless Smiley A fair bit will have changed by now of course.

I see. I wonder if
3. Nd2  Nf6 4. e5   Nfd7 5. c3   c5 6. Bd3 Nc6 7.Ne2 cxd4 8. cxd4 f6 9. Nf4  Nxd4
10. Qh5+ Ke7 11. exf6+ Nxf6 12. Ng6+ hxg6 13.Qxh8 Kf7 14. Qh4 e5 15. Nf3 Bb4+  is looked at...

The c5 lines are somehow busted or something?

No. But if you want to play those lines the older editions are fine (not selling the same stuff twice is quite nice of him).

I'm pretty sure it just went to the printer, given that the excerpt just showed up on the website.  Maybe Jonathan Tait has more details?

Now the question again: When will the book be published? Smiley

I see that John Watson's earlier book Dangerous Weapons: The French (2007) has also used the wrong spelling.

In the excerpt, on p. 8 last sentence first paragraph, what does it mean new line in the 4. e5 variation?

I'll take a (not so) wild guess that he's talking about 7...Be7.

Incidentally regarding 14. Qg3 of note (c) on page 378, I notice that Watson has a game (Berg-Tikkanen) played 11 days ago ...
