Jokes aside, has anyone now had the chance to use this DVD and, if so, can you tell us how it is?

I couldn't even find a real review; this is the best I could find:

Quite a nice comedy. The video's lag made for some quite amusing facial expressions.

Agree with Bibs about the chest hair. Next time I go to the pub I'll remember to pass by ChessBase's DVD recording room.

No apostrophe I would think.

Anyhow, grammar, buttons, paucity of visible chest hair aside....

Anyone seen this yet? Which lines included?

I spotted the following blurb on the Chessbase Website.

Lawrence Trent : Two Knight‘s Defence

On this DVD, IM Lawrence Trent presents a comprehensive repertoire and thematic analysis of the most enterprising, yet well less documented move 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 Nc6 3 Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 in the Two Knight’s Defence. Once labelled a “foolish” and “primative” lunge by the old masters, White ignores his development in order to immediately attack the Achilles Heel of Black’s position on f7.

However, with no less than five World Champions and modern-day Super GMs such as Nigel Short and Hikaru Nakamura essaying this romantic option, 4.Ng5 not only dodges the well-trodden theoretical paths of the Ruy Lopez, but provides an exciting and perfectly sound alternative for the first player. 4.Ng5 is, therefore, certainly no move to be ridiculed! Video runnig time: 4 h 45 min.

Lawrence Trent is an International Master from England. He has represented England as a player and as a coach and has been a 3-time winner of the Porto San Giorgio International tournament, finishing ahead of many Grandmasters. This is his first published work.

I suspect this one will be sure to have tongues wagging, at least on this forum. So as a Two Knight's Defence player should I be worried or rejoicing.

The main thing to worry about would seem to be over whether there should be an apostrophe and, if so, where it should go

There is already a thread on this DVD: http://www.chesspub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1266417458

If the screenshots are anything to go by, I don't see any reason to fear the repertoire in the DVD. Wink

Agreed!  Grin

Jokes aside, what variations does the DVD actually recommend? The DVD is available from February 18, so one of the members should have a copy within the next month.

Indeed - he looks like he's just back in from the night-club, which might not be far from the truth.

New vid from chessbase on 2k

http://www.chessbase.com/shop/product.asp?pid=490

Distressed to see an underdressed presenter. Missing buttons? Or chessbase dragged him to the office still in his pyjamas?
