	Looks like it's over for poor old Topalov. Good. The 12 game format is a bit of a joke though, and the idea of a WC being decided by blitz games - come on. Okay, life is allegedly busier now but, er, what are chess professionals going to do? "Sorry, twelve games is my limit, then I've gotta few more important things to do..."

	If, as it indeed seems, Anand is winning, I'm glad. I think the format is an absolute travesty; each championship is not a separate event with no ties to the previous result, it's a match between the incumbent champion and a challenger. It should simply be that if the match is tied then the incumbent retains the title. I can't accept a tie-break winner as the real champion. What an exciting last game it has been!

	Unbelievable! Topalov has brutally committed suicide by 31. exf5 and 32. fxe4. Must be tension, tiredness and pressure, as such horrible play is inexplainable for a player of his class.

	Here's the winning line: 38. Qf1 Rxg4+ 39. Kh3 Re7 40.Qd1 Rd4! 41. Nf5 Qxf5+ 42. Rxf5 Rxd1 and the endgame is easily winning for Black.

	Toppys king is on h4 - I presume he is dead lost, here is where I should chime in with my usual stuff about how Black can win in the QGD and how great an opening it is, lack of coverage, etc....

	After 30...f5 and 31...e4, the position is rather exciting, I would say.

	After 21.f3 it would seem that White has a slight advantage. So it all comes down to this one, dry, technical game.

	I agree with you both -and I don't mind a few strategic draws, but let's say a 16 round match without play offs seems ok (that is if 24 is unfeasible). I would also prefer longer time controls, but the players anyway manage to save 10-20 moves (depending on the opening) for the first time control by playing fast well-established theory.

	A 12 game match is a bit of a joke in my eyes - I said the same with the Kramnik match. It just laughs in the face of the great history of chess, but unfortunately, at least for the moment at least, thats what we are stuck with.
