I've seen a review of "Dégainez la Kalachnikov" -- by Glenn Flear in the latest Yearbook.  He quite liked it.

Yes I know. And thats why I also bought it.

But I was wondering about why Tony didnt get back to us on this? And why he was so sceptic about receving it...?

I noticed a new book in French on the Kalashnikov, from the Chess Evolution stable, which now seems to be available. It's "Dégainez la Kalachnikov" by  Cornette and Libiszewski. Has anyone seen it yet? If so, any opinions on it?

PS I hope it is better organized and designed than their recent publication on the Slav (by Sakaev)!

I ordered, but I'm not confident I'm going to receive it any time soon. I'll let everyone know how it looks.

Hello Tony Ro and others.

I just wondered what happend with this?  Has anyone got this  book or what?  I did order it two weeks ago, but Easter may has something to do with not getting it in the mail yet.

Btw; I pre-ordered your book and really looking foreward to it  Smiley

All the best

Yeah, it's an absolutely gargantuan undertaking. To be fair to the both of us, neither of us really took on a small project as our first go at it. I recently looked at my finished coverage of the Anti-Sicilians and noticed that the page count was about 170. That's 26 pages more than the old Everyman standard of 144 pages, and that's just half!

I don't know how the MS Word --> Finished Product page conversion typically looks, but still...

Good luck to you as well - hopefully you're close!

It's my fault. I told John I'd turn in the final manuscript by May, and I'm on track. Not too much work left now...

Bless your effort. Writing a quality book takes a lot more time than most realize.

I went in thinking, "Oh, this will be easy." Man, I was wrong. One of the hardest things I've done in my life, and I'm not even done yet.

Congratulations on being basically finished!

Do we know when this book will be published in the UK? Getting bored of waiting now Sad Undecided Cry Huh

Good question!

If you look here :

http://www.everymanchess.com/chess/books/The_Killer_Sicilian%3A_Fighting_1e4_wit...

you will find that Everyman now has sat JUNE as the month of publishing.

Perhaps I should clarify. The position at the end doesn't distinctly favour either side, but the evaluation by computers is highly volatile and fluctuates every move. So I think labelling it 'unclear' is completely justified given the character of the position.

Amateurs.  You wouldn't believe how little analysis it takes me to give an unclear assessment.
