Ruslan came forth with a particularly useful 1.d4 d5 update this month, looking at essentially all White's ways of avoiding the Noteboom when Black plays the Triangle, whether in context of 3.Nf3 or 3.Nc3.  According to the GM, Black's worries in lines like 3.Nf3 c6 4.Bg5 and 4.Qc2 are less than I had thought.  He also has some useful things to say about the transposition into the Slav Stonewall after 3.Nc3 c6 4.e3.  So it's moderately encouraging for a prospective Noteboom player.

I really appreciate it when the updates pay attention to perhaps infrequent, but nevertheless annoying, move orders like those treated this month by Ruslan.
