If memory serves, Dunnington recommended 4.Bf4 Bg7 5.e3 c5 6.dxc5 Qa5 7.Rc1 dxc4 8.Bxc4 0-0 9.Nge2

More commmon is 9.Nf3 Qxc5 10.Bb3 Nc6 11.0-0 Qa5 12.h3 Bf5 13.Qe2 Ne4

Now, 14.Nd5 is the old move.  But White fails to get an advantage after either 14..e5 15.Bh2 Be6 16.Rfd1 Rfd8 17.Qc4 Nf6 18.e4 Rac8 or 15.Rxc6 bxc6 16.Ne7 Kh8 17.Nxc6 Qb6 18.Ncxe5 Be6

14.g4 is the latest trend.  It looks wrong for White to ruin his pawn structure like this, but such is modern chess.  White plays for dynamic activity.  14..Nxc3 15.bxc3 Bd7 16.Rfd1 Rad8 17.Rd5 was Postny-Caruna, EU-Ch Aix-les-Bains, 2011.  And here Postny indicates in his notes that Svidler's move 17...Qa3! is the most precise way to equality.

Out of interest, are you intending to meet 5...0-0 with 6.e3 or 6.Rc1?

I like Dreev's handling of this opening, deferring Nf3 as long as possible because in many situations Nge2 is more challenging for Black.

Karpov covered Nf3 and Bf4 in Beating the Grunfeld. I don't know of too many repertoire books that cover the Grunfeld from White's perspective. Has Khalifman written an OFWADreev?

I have Dunnington's book, except I bought it in Spain so it is in Spanish. The 4. Bf4 line is the line with the pawn exchanges on c5 and c4.

Hóember Chess - why do you want to play this line? Is there a model game, that inspired you?

The older, the better - over 2200 and still rising.

I think the point is that the traditional Bf4 followed by e3 is not played in this line.

I know Angus Dunnington had a Bf4 line vs the Grunfeld in his d4 book (which is of course quite old now).

edit: it's 4 Bf4 actually. I guess he plays Nf3 later though?

The books I can think of right now are:
Understanding the Grunfeld - Rowson
The Safest Grunfeld - Delchev and Agrest
GM Repertoire 8 or 9 - Avrukh

Maybe also Dangerous Weapons?

I am including it in my (White) repertoire right now.

I have checked them out:
Dreev: My 100 Best Games (2007)
Ftacnik's Repertoire DVD for White (2010)

What other literature on the subject exists?
