Avrukh's books are extremely difficult to surpass in terms of quality. I still consider his Grandmaster Repertoire 2 as the best book I ever read in chess (and probably ever, since most books I read are chess books). But his Grünfeld volumes were extremely good as well.

Amazing that for the third year in a row a Grandmaster Repertoire book has won the award. Quality Chess has indeed raised the bar!

A bit of cheating with 2 books counting for one Wink

In defense of the poll being open for two weeks instead of one:

There were about 16 votes cast in the second week. The goal wasn't to keep the viewers' interest, but to get a full vote for the ChessPub's book of the year.

This year's contest was very close. In fact, after ~5 days, Grandmaster Repertore: The Tarrasch was leading the vote!

Congratulations to all the finalists!

And of course, congratulations to Boris Avrukh for winning the ChessPub book of the year for 2011!

Grandmaster repertoire Grunfeld by Avrukh was a clear winner since the begining but the Safest Grunfeld by Delchev deserved to be part of the group since it is probably the best Chess Stars book so far.

The poll should probably have been open for no longer than one week. I already forgot when I voted.

The poll probably took too long.

Must admitt that I lost interest. Don't know why.

What kind of proof is that?

We've been stalled at 54 for a few days, so I'm bumping the thread. Personally, I think 54 votes is a good representative figure for our active users. Only members are allowed to vote this year. (I'm not sure whether that was true last year).

And now 36! How many did we have last year? If i remember correctly it was over 100, right?

For Bronzink's book.  I like this author very much. I would like to see him write  in a more mainsteam opening. I saw Kaufman claiming some minor improvements in his book in the Schara Gambit. I'd like to see Stefan's opinion on that if he has seen them.
