So that the next poor soul with this problem can sidestep it easily I've inserted the fix, below, that took me a while to find on the Internet. By the way, using a portion of the text below, in a search, will get you to, what I think, is a very good site for these issues.

__________________________________________

You can have multiple email programs installed in Windows and you can use each independently. However, MAPI can be used to deliver messages from an application such as CTI Navigator internally in Windows only to one default email program.
If you have multiple email programs installed in Windows and sending MLS reports out of CTI Navigator is encountering a MAPI or unspecified error, one or more email programs may be interfering with MAPI delivering messages internally to your preferred default email program.
First ensure that the correct email program is set as the default email handler.
To set the default mail handler in Windows 7 click Start > Default Programs > Set your default programs > select the appropriate program in the list > select “Set this program as default” > OK.
If the correct email program is set as the default, configure Windows' "Program Access" to your default email program as follows:
1.      In Windows 7: click Start > {Control Panel} > Default Programs
2.      Select "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults"
3.      Select Custom and click the downward pointing chevron symbols on the right. This will open a list for setting default configurations.
4.      Under "Choose a default e-mail program",
o      select your preferred email program in the list and check "Enable access to this program"; or
o      if your default email program is open, select "Use my current e-mail program"
5.      Option: it is not normally necessary, but for other email programs listed (especially Office Outlook if installed) you also may uncheck "Enable access to this program". Otherwise, just uninstall any email program you do not intend to use. Beware that un-checking "enable access" may disable shortcut access to the program (such as through the Start menu or desktop), or may prompt you to uninstall the program (especially Office Outlook).
6.      Click OK.

Yes! BEGGING!  Grin

I switched to Window's Live and the problem has disappeared.  Smiley

In my own defense, I had switched just prior to taking another look at this site.  Roll Eyes

Thanks TalJechin/Fling.

It's been frustrating but alls well that ends well.

I agree wholeheartedly with you Fling regarding CB.

Well, using both CB and Outlook is begging for bugs - I would've tried another mail program.

However, some quick googling came up with this, which may have something to do with your problem too... :/
Found the fix.  Thanks Microsoft - for nothing:

Then I came across this forum post that had something that worked (the
solution is the last reply in the post). Mapi32.dll is obviously
located at c:\windows\system32\Mapi32.dll right? Well, yes, but
unfortunately the error message is not specifying the correct file
name of the dll in question.

The actual dll that is causing the problem is MSMAPI32.dll, which is
located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033. Simply
rename this file to something else (e.g. MSMAPI32_OLD.dll), reinstall
Office 2003, and Outlook 2003 should work perfectly after that.
Can't you just archive the files and send as a cbv-file?

@fling
That's the same thing that I think the folks at CB told me to do.   Huh
Thanks for the way out on it but I want to send files in a more automated fashion -- as CB promises with those little buttons they give us to use.

With CB's present support and CB11 I'd wonder about them keeping their market share.

I understand your point, and I feel the same. If I pay for something like CB, it should better work as they say it should!

Anyway, unfortunately, as with so many other things, there are not too many alternatives. It isn't a good market but rather an oligopolic market, which doesn't leave us with many choices.

If there were a good alternative for playing CB-videos and reading CBH-files, I would switch immediately.

I use the Send Game feature in CB 11. It doesn't matter if I send it as a .cbv file or .txt file or whatever. I always comes back with the same error message.

I think it has something to do with the .DLL file in the error message. I used microsoft.com suggestion to change the file extension from .DLL to .old but my system will not allow me the priviledge even though I tried it as administrator.

It appears to be a tough nut to crack.  Undecided

I get this error when I try to send a file or database with ChessBase 11:

MAPI error
FileName:  C:\Windows\system32\MAPI32.DLL
CompanyName: Microsoft  Corporation
File Description: Extended MAPI 1.0 for Windows NT
FileVersion: 1.0.2536.0 (win7_rtm.090713-1255)
ProductName: Microsoft Windows Operating System
ProductVersion: 6.1.7600.16385
Error: The function cannot find a matching value

I use Outlook 2007 and my operating system is Windows 7

I've searched the Internet and even microsoft.com doesn't seem to have an answer for me.

The people at ChessBase have not been that helpful.

I think I'm running out of ideas. Has anyone had this problem and found a fix for it?

Thanks for any suggestions or leads.

Tell us what method of "sending" you are using.

If the "email database" function is not working you should still be able to simply output the games / file as pgn or cbv and save and attach the resulting file to an email, as you would for sending a document.

It is admittedly annoying when a program function doesn't work as it should, but there are at least two ways to work around the problem.

I use earlier versions of both Windows and Chessbase, and have found that for the "email database" function to have any chance of working, you need to tell Windows which program to use as its default email client.

Unfortunately, Chessbase are not helpful at all in my experience. They often don't answer any e-mails.

Can't you just archive the files and send as a cbv-file?
