Thanks. As you probably realise by now, computers and internet is one of my worst subjects. It took me over a year to learn how to post a pgn board in posts Smiley

Then open the main link: http://pgn.freeservers.com/
You will see the page 'PGN Utilities". First line is: "The PGN Standard can be downloaded in text format or in PDF format." Then these links: http://pgn.freeservers.com/Standard.txt
http://pgn.freeservers.com/Pgn.pdf
under 'text' and 'PDF' will work for you.  Wink

Could someone let me know what is hanging up the following Chessbase/Fritz12 pgn from getting hung up on the site?  Correcting the code is okay, but I want to know so I can fix it and post to the site when I want to.

I just used copy game, and then I pasted it here, but I get that the first move is bad.  Any assistance is appreciated.

No. It's just Chessbase/pgn code.

How do you make these annotations in the pgn board (command: [pgn] (notation) [slash pgn]):

It's too much hassle entering a game manually like this, you should put the annotations in elsewhere and then copy the game over.
Otherwise standard PGN notation should work, so ! = $1, ? = $2, !? = $5, etc.

I usually use Chessbase to generate PGN-files. I don't know if the annotations come out right that way, though.

How do you make these annotations in the pgn board (command: [pgn] (notation) [slash pgn]):

After a move:
!
!!
!?
?!
?
??
+/=
+
+/-
=/+
_/+
-/+
square ("only move")
N ("novelty")
arrows ("counterplay")

Between moves:
any text
any text with moves in between the text that link to the pgn board

Also, how does one enter the pgn text? I usually have to type all of the moves out in Notepad.
