It is also available for Android for $18. I added today Index of branches at the beginning of every "Step by Step" chapter so one can go directly to the branch by tapping on the move in the index.

I purchased the ebook. Looks good!
I believe my long-lasting decision making of what to play against GI is finally over (I already played Samish against KI).

You should have learned already that every opening system is playable. Even the openly dubious ones, as the Albin, Budapest and similar, are difficult to refute. So it is a matter of style what to choose. If the author has fresh ideas, they can bring many points.
In the Avrukh case, things are a bit different as he never mentioned in his 2-volume repertoire something every candidate-master in the last 30 years knows - a KI repertoire with g3 has one, but enormous drawback - the system with ...c6, d5 is rock solid. It is the reason no top GM would choose it as a main repertoire (Karpov-Kasparov games were at a purely psychological level). On the contrary, the authors of Wojo's Weapons are more honest and they focus on the practical side.
Svetushkin does not conceal the theoretical problems which White faces in many lines. Sometimes he even suggests strong novelties for Black. In several main lines, evaluated in White's favor, he shows good options for Black instead of keeping the secret for himself.  This is his first book and it is fresh and innovative. I enjoyed editing it.

So he did it the other way round from Avrukh.  Well, this phenomenon goes back at least to Andrew Soltis's "Winning with the English" and "Beating the English."
I'm reminded of the remark of the American pundit Michael Kinsley -- "Of course, like any good opening-advocacy auth lawyer, I can argue it round or argue it flat."      Smiley

Thank you, you surprise me. Actually, I'm afraid that we have a poor PR, but we compensate with uncompromising search of new plans. We reject any offers where we feel that the author has nothing to contribute to theory. We seek not simple novelties, but new approaches.
I'm going on vacation in 2 days so if you have queries - send them to my Email.

Really impressive PR from Chess Stars Smiley Thank you Mr Semkov for the time you take to listen to and reply to criticism. There are other publishers with other strong points but in this regard Chess Stars is definitely number 1.

Ok, let it be Byrne... Vox populi vox dei...
From the Eastern players, nobody will understand what is this Byrne Variation, but they do not write in the forum.

I guess I'll offer the book for Ipad in 10 days and it will be printed probably in 2 weeks.

Will it be available via Paypal order from your site like a couple of your other titles? I usually use the bookdepository, but the chess-star books are rarely available there. Sad

Up until the internet really got popular, officially it was å=aa, ä=ae, ö=oe but the last decade or so å=a, ä=a, ö=o seems to have taken over in practice... despite that internet addresses nowadays can handle the original letters.

It's really a good news, i'm going to buy this book!
How long should i wait Tongue?
I never tried 3.f3 because i thought that Black gets a favorable version of Benoni, with White having to do lots of knights' manouvres...  Shocked
It's sure that the benefit is that we avoid the scary part of Gruenfeld, indeed i know several Gruenfeld players that prefers the KID version of the Saemish while Benoni is too dangerous for them  Grin

One example that comes to mind is Efstratios Grivas's Yearbook article a few years ago, "Recent Developments in the Byrne System."
I wonder how, say, Kasparov referred to it regarding when he played it against Karpov.

Except in America, who calls it The Byrne Variation?! Googling it will give you mostly a variation in the Pirc. Chess Base also does not seem to associate it with Byrne - I checked the "Classify" option. I know that nobody calls it The Extended Fianchetto either, but at least it describes Black's set-up.

If you change the title, also please consider adding Byrne's name in place of the "Extended Fianchetto."

If I put only Samisch in the title, it would also fail to convey a good half of the book. Also, there is a Part 9 where White does not even play Nbc3 and it is an alternative repertoire. So it is not just Samisch.

I added to the Contents the Index of main branches.

Well, that is the force of the feed-back. The book is not printed yet, we might change the title.
How about The Ultimate Anti-Grünfeld. A Sämisch Repertoire?

Maybe, but the sub-title is A White repertoire with 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 g6 3.f3.
By the way, KID players will be quite surprised to meet new plans in most main systems.

I think Igor has a point. I glanced at this book in the "coming Soon" section ans ignored it since I figured it was simply on the Anti-grunfled. It was only when I saw this thread, that I realized it covered the Samisch.

You are the publisher so it is your choice of course. But I aim sure you will sell a lot more books if the title communicated that it offered a repertoire against the KID Samisch.

Out of curiosity, how is Dembo's (or Adorján's) 3 .. e5 faring nowadays? I can see that nobody plays it on the top level but it always looked like a fun move to me Smiley Unrelated note: is the spelling Sämisch as Samish an accepted alternative or just a typo (sorry, I know it has almost nothing to do with the quality of the book..)?

imho the title "The Ultimate Anti-Grünfeld" is somehow a limitation, personally I am more interested in the Saemisch KID for example

On the contrary, you have both - the Samish AND the Anti-Grunfeld.

Of course, but my point is that it should be understandable from the title alone, so the... casual reader, let say, would be informed.

Obviously the author thought that his book did not deserve mentioning it. Chess Stars bibliographies in principle include only books which somehow contributed to the subject and the text contains references to them.
But 9...f5 and then ...Rfd8 is covered quite deeply indeed, although this line is rather old-fashioned and nobody from the top plays it anymore.

If you asked me, I would name it after Bulgarian GM Krum Georgiev who has been playing it for 40 years!

This is covered under the move order 6...c5 6.Ne2 b6. Anyway, it is rather senseless. It was designed to avoid the sac on c5.

The Ultimate Anti-Grünfeld. A Repertoire with 3.f3

I have just posted the Contents of the ready-to-print book by Svetushkin at http://chess-stars.com/resources/Contents_Ultimate.pdf. Half of it is on the Sämish though - as it presents a White repertoire with 3.f3.
