The only job I wouldn't like to have is Karlovich's... "Does it mean that you are still looking for a good response to 1 d4?" "um.. maybe."

26.Rxa7 allowed ...Nc6-b4 liquidating everything.

26.Kg2 or some other move would have made Carlsen work more.

Still at least he managed to put some pressure on Carlsen, which bodes well for him.

Missed opportunity for Anand to put Carlsen under more pressure it seems. Press conference should be interesting, would like to know why Carlsen went for 22...Qxb2. Also why Anand didn't try 27.Ra4 which the commentators and top chess player's on twitter thought was a risk-free way to keep pressing.

The queenside has been completely liquidated. Hard to believe White can win this even if the f5-pawn drops off.

Even if he doesn't, that he's even managed to threaten Carlsen in this sort of style/position bodes rather well for the match.

I really hope Anand converts this now. It will be fantastic for the match. We'll get to see what Carlsen is really made of then.

He decided not to go for the endgame I was referring to with my Fischer reference.

But this looks seriously awful for Black - the bishop dominates the board, I think Carlsen is in serious danger here.

Shocked Carlsen grabbed that pawn, not in his style. I think Anand's sustained pressure in this game has made him crack. Carlsen needs to defend accurately now.

Yea looks like I jumped the gun. Still lots of life in this position.

Carlsen just went pawn grabbing.

Looks promising for Anand to my eye.

He has a position Fischer used to win in his sleep.

Very nice game by Anand so far.

Hm, if this ends in a draw in another 5 moves, momentum will be back on Carlsen's side. Magnus has spent the whole game in prep.

I don't think this is Anand's prep. Carlsen is a lot ahead on the clock, but I doubt it will matter much in this position.

Team of Svidler + Nepo today on the official site. I'm loving this, but not sure everyone else can follow their train of thought(s). They tend to interrupt one another a bit.

Anand is behind on the clock by 15 minutes but he doesn't necessarily seem to be out of his prep. My guess would be he's still in book but he did not have this exact line on the board at home this morning.
