My thinking went somewhere along those lines, but I messed up and ended up losing a pawn on the Qside. I then foolishly pushed the kingside pawns hoping to try and create some sort of mess and just ended up giving the opposition a passed h pawn.

I think the key idea I missed was a timely Bd1.

Not a strong player, but having read of Fischer's limiting the Knights in endgames, I would play Bf3 first then bring my King into the game and head for the Queenside and Center to get my pawn majority rolling.  Anyone have specific moves to demonstrate my idea or, perhaps, refute this generalization?

I had this ending as White in a long play match against a stronger player. I proceeded to botch my winning chances and get a drawish position in which I over-pressed and ended up losing.

How would one practically go about trying to win this position for White? Many thanks
