Yeah, Lev, we can't have amateurs like me rescuing gambits by using computers to improve on theory. Cf NIC Yearbook 67. After this publication nobody proposed 5.dxe6 fxe6 6;.cxb5 d5 7.Nc3 anymore as a refutation, thanks to the improvement 13...Bb4+ suggested by Fritz3. I'm sure you regret that.
At the other hand several GMs might have been inspired. Whose opinion shall we value more?

In the Chesslive.de database, after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f5 3.Nxe5, in human-on-human games White is scoring:
(a) 68% with 3...Qf6 4.Nc4
(b) 66% with 3...Nc6 4.Nxc6 (I think 4.Qh5+ is objectively better, but in practice White often falters in the complications)
(c) 65% with 3...Nf6 4.exf5

White's overall score with 3.Nxe5 is also 64%.  So I get the impression that if White finds 3.Nxe5 then White is also doing well in human-on-human games.

Computers are much stronger now. A new edition would probably just have to say "winning for White" in a lot of the main lines.

I have a copy. From what I have seen so far, Kosten has not made any plans for an update. It is way overdue, though.
