@MNb, You posted in another KG thread that the mainline Fischer defense (with 6.Ng1) is =+. Do you have a source for that? or its your own opinion? I generally agree with that evaluation tho I cannot concretely prove it. For me its just that I hate the posn. I certainly didnt take up the KG to get that posn!
Same for me, after both 6...f5 and 6...Bh6 7.Nc3 c6 8.Nge2 Qf6 9.g3 fxg3 10.Nxg3 Bxc1 11.Rxc1 Qf4 12.Nce2 Qe3 13.Qd2 Qxd2+ 14.Kxd2 Ne7 Van Wessel-Bellin,1997. And there are also some ...f3 lines.
But I will leave a concrete proof to the Überdekers amongst us.
Actually the Muzio is not that dead. Those who are familiar with Bücker's work on the KG and don't rely on McDonald

know how interesting 4.Bc4 g4 (Bg7 =+) 5.0-0 gxf3 6.Qxf3 Qf6 7.d3 is. Bücker gives very deep analysis, leading to fascinating endgames with one or two rooks on the 7th row for the piece. If it were not for the Hanstein, I would probably add this to my repertoire.
Copying the analysis is not nice, but I can give one game known with this:
7.d3 Bh6 8.Nc3 Ne7 9.Bxf4 Bxf4 10.Qxf4 Qxf4 11.Rxf4 o-o? (d6 or f5) 12.Raf1 d5 13.Bxd5 Nxd5 14.Nxd5 Na6 15.R1f3 Be6 16.Rg3+ Kh8 17.Nf6 Rg8 18.Rh4 Rg7 19.Rg5 Rag8 20.Rxh7 Rxh7 21.Rxg8 1-0, Gold - Von Kochanovski, Wien 1887.
Ain't chess cute?
7.e5 Qxe5 8.d3 Bh6 9.Nc3 Ne7 10.Bd2 Nbc6 11.Rae1 Qf5 12.Nd5 Kd8 13.Qe2 (the only promising continuation)
a)13...b5 14.Bxf4 (14.Nxe7 Qc5+ 15.Rf2 is to be investigated) Bxf4 15.Rxf4 Qg5 16.Rg4 (and not 16.Nxe7??) Qf5 17.Rf4 is one way to settle the draw. Another is 10...c6 11.Rae1 Qc5+ 12.Kh1 d5 13.Qh5 Qd6 14.Bxd5 o-o! 15.Rxe7 cxd5 16.Nxd5 Nc6 17.Bxf4 Bxf4 18.Rxf4 Qg6 19.Nf6+ Kg7 20.Ne8+ Kg8, Edöcs-Glauser, SUI 1983.
Na, those interested in the Muzio must try to lay hands on Bückers stuff, either

The latter contains additions and improvements and therefor is the best. A good reason to learn reading Dutch.
