My current solution is the 3...c5, 4... exd5 variation + early ...c4. Annoys the heck out of many white players .

After more than 20 years playing the French, I have been changing from line to line in the Tarrasch.

I started with 3..c5 and 4...ed5. Then I changed to 3... Cf6, Then I started with 3...a6, and then switched to 3...c5 and 4...Dd5. Nowadays I am playing 3...Cf6 and I feel not comfortable at all.

3... Cc6 can't be good (no one really strong plays it), and I am getting desperate about the whole matter.

Oh, why so many changes? In the 3...c5 and then 4...ed5 I foud extremely difficult to get the whole point. In the 3...Cf6 it is easy to lose against equal or "inferior-rating" players. In 3...a6 I found myself too often in  "anything but French" positions. In ·...c5 and 4...Dd5 I was maybe in my best... but the sack variation made me read theory about it almost weeckly!On the other hand the early exchange of queens is rather discouraging...Maybe this is the line I have to play... if I can avoid those lines or find myself more comortable.

Has anybody  been in this turmoil of changing lines? Any advice (general or a line)?.

I think (Tell me If I am wrong) that we (frenchies) don't like facing the Tarrasch... Maybe we can have an interesting poll that I propose in another subject!!!
