Given how I like his Attacking Manuals, I think I will have to pick it up, but it is a real luxury because I will probably continue with the English.

I want to thank you(Mr Aagaard) for your answers and hope very much that you will do this in the future on this forum.
I want to let you know that I am also looking forward for your book about the repertoire with 1.e4- hope it will be not razorsharp, but for a guy with 2200 managable- knowing that he is not always behind the board and studying..... Wink

Like with other repertoire books we are going to present a repertoire and not much more than that. There is enough material to deal with.

The emphasis will be on well-analyzed improvements. Most other theoretical works on the market are based on surprise or introduction, while they often will use phrases like: and here black has to find something. Well, if the author can use 10 pages on the line, he should also have found something. If he cannot, the reader is likely not to do so either and the 10 pages are dead weight.

Avrukh has found more than 100 improvements already and will undoubtedly find many more before finishing these books.

Hopefully they will address transposition issues from 1Nf3 in connection with the d4 repertoire too. According to an earlier message the emphasis there is on Catalan and g3 KI. Many probably play the symmetrical English as well, over Benoni systems, so they may have to buy both the English and the d4 repertoires, making CP happy.


Well, you can still play the symmetrical English instead of Benoni systems after 1.d4.

Would be great if you don't, I can't imagine spending another 500 bucks on 10 books!

But Ruy Lopez against 1..e5, 3.Nc3 against the French, Open Sicilians...Jacob, you have your work cut out to keep your books to a reasonable size.  Smiley

Good morning, I am very interested in the English Opening edition of Grandmaster Repertoire.

I was wondering if this will be a complete repertoire book, covering everything (1..e6, 1...c6, Dutch, King's Indian etc), as in Kosten's Dynamic English, or will it be a partial one, just covering English specific lines (1.c4 c5, 1.c4 e5), like Pritchett's Play the English?

To be honest, it sounds like a good idea but let's not forget Quality Chess is the only chess publishing company that offers free updates online. Aagaard is not obliged in the first place and is only doing it out of goodwill for all his readers.

It's good to note that you have toned down though.
