I would like to dedicate this thread to rare ideas that I have faced against the modern in my online practice, and specifically the a6 lines which I am intending to learn. I am looking for suggestions or tips on what is the best way to play.
An early e51. e4 g6 2. d4 Bg7 3. Nc3 d6 4. f4 a6 5. Nf3 b5
6.e5The only plausible idea I could come up with in such a short game was to control the light squares. 6...Bb7 7.Bd3 Nh6 8.0-0 0-0 9.a4 c6 10.Qe1 Nd4 11.Ne4 but I do not think I was able to take advantage of white's mistake.
An early f41.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7
3.f4 The aim of this move must be to play c4 if given the possibility. As it was a blitz game I played 3...a6 hoping for 4.Nc3 transposing to my normal austrian lines but instead 4.c4
An even earlier f41. e4 g6 2. f4 Bg7 3. Nf3 d6
4.Nc3 and again I played 4...a6 hoping for 5.d4 but I saw that c5 could lead to some closed sicilian which I was not prepared to play.
Ne2 in the Austrian1. e4 g6 2. d4 Bg7 3. Nc3 d6 4. f4 a6 5. Nf3 b5 6. Bd3 Nd7
7.Ne2for whatever it is worth the game continued 7...Bb7 8.0-0 c5 9.c3 Ngf6 10.Qb6
Kings-Indian Attack1..e4 g6
3.d3 The game I had continued 3...Bg7 4.Nd2 d5 5.g3 dxe4 6.dxe4 Nf6 7.Bg2 Bg4 8.Nf3 0-0 9.0-0 Nc6 10.c3 Qc8 I think my position was satisfactory already after 3.d3
