	In round 11: Aronian is a piece down and, in the absence of a miracle, will lose his game against Navara. Strange turn for Aronian. After seeming to win so brilliantly (and almost effortlessly) in recent rounds, in the current game he couldn't seem to find the thread. Ivanchuk lost to Gelfand. Carlsen-Topalov has an unusual material imbalance which may favor Carlsen. It's very unclear (to me at least), but if Carlsen somehow pulls out a win Aronian's lead goes down to half a point.

Well, as a chess fan I'm also disappointed that they've gone for quick interviews rather than short lectures - but after all, as organisers their main responsibility is to the players and sponsors and not to a non-paying internet crowd. As the saying goes: if someone gives you a horse you shouldn't inspect its teeth... Besides, it's hard times for tournament organisers at the moment, there's even a risk that this might be the last Wijk as a super-tm - so let's enjoy what we do get, instead of lamenting what we could be getting.

	Appalling? Isn't that too strong a word here? Anyway, I enoyed the Giri-Aronian game. Simple chess, as Michael Stean would put it. The Rxf3 sac reminds me of similar French Tarrasch sacs. Nice regrouping with Nb6-d7-f8-g6-h4 and Bc6-e8-g6-d3, again reminding me of the french.

	3 videos over 10 rounds is appalling... they used to do 3 videos PER round.

	Wow! What a game! Aronian is poised to clinch a clear first and, at 2826, is also sneaking up on Carlsen on the live rating list. Nice to see the return of the post-game analysis videos!

	Karjakin has a funny tournament, beating Topalov and Carlsen but losing to the 'lesser stars' +4 =1 -4

	It seems the only thing left to attract the fans is the chess. Karjakin scored a fine win today against Topalov! I love to see such endgame technique. 57.Bd4!, recognising that the position was won, was brilliant.

	Well its definitely the organizers (no matter what way you cut it). Maybe they took it out the player contracts to save money. Who knows. Either way it is a COMPLETE disappoint for the chess fans.
