Hi guys!
Since i don't like positions after
1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. e5 Nfd7 5. f4 I started to look for alternatives for white and i found
1. e4 e6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 Nf6 4. e5 Nfd7 5. Nce2 !?

Since I'm not expert in french defence i wanted to ask about current state of theory of this variation. Is it considered as equal with best play? I remember some games, where black took on d4, played Bb4+ and then white was forced to f2 square. Then blac usualy played some moves like f6 and even g5. But i don't see such plans for black in database, maybe i confused it wit similar positions in tarrasch variation?

Regards.
