There are no actions to perform.
I nominate Opening Repertoire: The Sicilian Najdorf by J & J Dojknas (Everyman Chess) if Tony agrees it is eligible by publication date.

I vote for The Modernized Reti by Demuth....best book on this opening in my 50 plus years of playing chess and this opening.

I will second that nomination and nominate:

Play the Trompowsky Attack.

There are no actions to perform.
I also nominate First Steps: 1.e4 e5 by John Emms. This book is certainly not going to contribute anything to theory, but it lays out a surprising amount of theory in such a way as to explain thoroughly the tactical and elementary strategic basis of the moves--in more detail and better, in fact, than any book I have seen on the Open Games, and perhaps on any opening. In fact, it has become my first choice as a book to recommend to those wanting to begin opening study under 1700. The fact that it defines some basic terms is not indicative of its great usefulness at non-beginner class-levels.

For some reason the GM Repertoire Queeb's Indian by Roïz is not on list ¿

I would vote for that one if it were on list.

If not I will vote for the Chigorin Bibel.

I nominate the Chigorin bible by Sokolov and Sokolov (!). I very much like how the book is organized : 1st part is about historical and model games with lots of explanations, 2nd part is about hard-core engine assisted theory

Please make your nominations here, I will close this in a couple of weeks or so, and then make the poll in a separate thread.

Sorry. I meant two weeks each for proposal and voting. And start of the topic should not be on 1.1.

I think 3+ weeks is a more manageable suggestion, and it should start later to begin with

A book published shortly before christmas will have had 3-4 weeks total to be read if the voting starts mid-January, which might very well be barely enough to work through the first chapter, let alone read the entire book and form a real opinion on it.

I second Eric's suggestion.

Me too.

Plus the addition of Tony Kosten.

I think two weeks for the proposals and voting would be enough-
