Schandorff gives 3..., de 4. Ne4 Nf6 against the Two Knights.
Against the Fantasy, he again goes for 3..., de 4. fe e5 5. Nf3 Bg4. He comments that 3..., e6 is okay but I have preferred 3..., Qb6 in the past.

Thanks Laramonet! Johnsen and T.R.Hansen in their new book choose the same variation against the Two Knights.

I am very curious which lines Schandorff chooses against the Two Knights Variation and against the Fantasy Variation. Are they the same as in his previous work or does he now chooses something else?

Edit: Where did you read the bibliography?

It was published as a Forward Chess book yesterday.

Ah, thank you.

Interestingly he doesn't list "Win with the Caro-Kann" in his bibliography.

Maybe because it is not out on paper yet?

Edit: Where did you read the bibliography and about 7...Qd5?

Schandorff too gives 7...Qd5 with a bit more detail.

Interestingly he doesn't list "Win with the Caro-Kann" in his bibliography.

I am curious to know if he covers the line 1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Nf6 5.Nxf6+ exf6 6.Bd3 so sacrificing the pawn on d4. It is a dangerous line if you didn't check it carefully with an engine as I explained in my article http://chess-brabo.blogspot.com/2021/01/geometry.html
It is fully playable.

Johnsen & T.R.Hansen in their new book advocate 7...Qd5 etc.

What can be seen from the variation index Schandorff only covers 6. Bf4, Bc4, Nf3 and c3. Maybe 6. Bd3 can be found as a sideline in the book.

Now it would be good to know if he's going for the old classical line 4...Bf5, or the recently fashionable 4...Nf6 5.Nxf6 exf6.

From the blurb:-

"Playing the Caro-Kann offers a complete repertoire for Black after 1.e4 c6, based on 2.d4 d5 followed by 3.e5 Bf5 or 3.Nc3/3.Nd2 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Nf6 5.Nxf6† exf6. With cutting-edge analysis, thorough explanations of positional motifs and instructively annotated illustrative games, this book is essential reading for anyone with an interest in the Caro-Kann."

The most trendy line, that's for sure, but he also authored couple of CBM articles on 7...e6 in old classical and I expected him folowing this way. I'm not sure whether there was any recent development that made this line problematic for Black, or was it purely stylistical choice.
